What happened in the Light & Dark universe

October 31, 2005 -- Happy Halloween everyone!  Oh what a weekend we had.  The Chiller Theatre convention was a blast.  The highlight of the weekend was meeting and talking to legend George Romero and getting the scoop on his latest projects.  Check out the pictures for yourself in our Hall of Fame.

October 23, 2005 -- Deja vu.  Five years ago we wrapped on Fear of the Dark with the detective scenes.  Five years later I wrap on a special edition of Fear of the Dark and the same weekend I find myself visiting a set where the detective characters I created are appearing in a fictitious beer commercial that Anthony Eikner put together.  And, it was a relief for me not being the one directing or shooting for a change.  "Detectives" Joe Baxter and Walter Eikner and Black Rose Killer victim Paul "Hatchet Head" Cooper were there performing for Anthony Eikner in the commercial.  No Trespassing 2's Nicole Berlingeri was called in last minute to replace an actress who dropped out last minute.  It as a chance for me to catch up with the guys.  I haven't seen Walter since Fairview Falls, Joe since The Tenement and Paul since Fear of the Dark.  I did a brief interview with the guys for a retrospective documentary that will appear on Sins of the Father and then was on my way.  It was good seeing them again.  And speaking of seeing people, be sure to come on down to the Chiller Theatre convention this coming weekend.  Hope to see you all there!

October 22, 2005 -- On Friday we officially broke the news about the new Fear of the Dark special edition DVD to Fangoria.  The new DVD is currently scheduled for an April release by Brain Damage Films through Razor Digital Entertainment.  It will only be available in a special double pack with The Tenement.  Below is a list of all of the features that will be available on the DVD.  As far as we are aware this will not be changing.  The current version of Fear of the Dark which IS different from the new Director's cut will be only available for a short while longer in our online Store while supplies last.  They make the perfect Christmas gift for any indie horror fan.  Don't miss out because it will never be available again.  This special edition also includes the award winning short The Family Tree which has been remastered for the DVD.  It includes the best of bloopers and outtakes from the full version which is currently available.

October 13, 2005 -- Read Eugene Driscoll's article from The News Times recounting our rather humorous escapades at this past Fangoria Weekend of Horrors.

October 9, 2005 -- We wrapped the final Putnam County International Film & Video Festival last weekend.  After five long years we went out with a bang.  Five years ago, Fear of the Dark was almost banned for being too graphic.  Five years later, Shadow: Dead Riot, a movie ten times as offensive, played there and won the audience over.  It also took home an award for "Best of Fest - Feature Horror".  And, five years later, I'm happy to announce that Fear of the Dark is finally getting the attention it deserves.  Brain Damage Films has picked it up for worldwide distribution.  As part of their agreement with Razor Digital, you should be seeing a new director's cut packed with special bonus material and a commentary out in stores in April.  It will only be sold as a 2 pack with The Tenement.  Keep checking back for more details.

This past weekend we joined Blood Moon Rising to celebrate their 5th anniversary and attended Blood Fest 2005 for a screening of No Trespassing 2: No Exit.  They also gave us a nice review in their recent issue as well.  Read more about the event in my October 8th Journal entry.

Hope you all join us as at upcoming Chiller Theatre convention on October 28th - 30th!
