June 27, 2008 -- This past Fangoria Weekend of
Horror was a blast! Getting to meet George Romero was enough to
fuel the fires of inspiration and get me back onto the track that I fell off
of a long time ago.
Best of all was seeing my buddy Brian Spears (G & S
Effects) getting the recognition he deserves when a number of
directors gave a shout out to him from their onstage panels. Brian and
partner, Pete Gerner's work kicked ass! The trailer for I Sell the
Dead was a favorite among Fango fans and was generating quite a bit of buzz
over the weekend. As soon as it hits the web I'll post a link to it
here.
This marked the first time in 10 years that Light & Dark did not have a table
at a convention but I don't regret it at all. It was fun to be a
patron and have the freedom to roam the convention without being tethered to
the table. And most of all, I wouldn't have had the chance to hang out
and have a good time with my friends. Check out this year's Fango pics
on the
Hall of Fame and see what I mean. Special thanks to Brian and
my buddy Eugene Driscoll (News Times, CT) for the pictures.
Speaking of Eugene, check out the
Hollywood Chainsaw
Blogger. It's an online entertainment web blog with an
emphasis on Connecticut.
For those of you who have been inquiring about the status of the latest Light
& Dark projects, rest assured, they are coming. All good things come
to those who wait:)
