The Putnam County Film
and Video Festival
was a
success. We had a pretty decent turnout for the first time. Approximately
250 people showed up throughout the course of the day. The Family Tree
was well received though I think that most people found it to be quite
disturbing or didn't quite know what to make of it. Fear of the Dark
was an instant hit. We were given permission last minute to show the full
uncut movie. The new opening sequence was very well received. It seemed
that everyone loved the Detectives, especially Joe Baxter's character. The one
liners got plenty of laughter (especially the Janice and Michael scene) and the
action scenes seemed to keep everyone on edge. Applause and cheers erupted
from the audience when Karen (Vanessa Edwards) took her first swing at the
killer. The movie was rounded out by a surprise appearance of the Black
Rose Killer (Mark Yonick) who attacked and disemboweled me shortly after the
closing credits. It got a real rise from the audience as I stated "that's a
cut." October 5, 2001 -- An introductory meeting of the Mid-Hudson Film & Artists Group will take place at the Putnam County Film and Video Festival at 10:30 PM on Sunday, October 7th. Our first official meeting will be on Thursday, November 15th from 8 PM to 10 PM at the VFW (Veterans of Foreign Wars) Hall on Oscawana Lake Road in Putnam Valley, New York. It looks as if meetings will be held at this location in the future once a month on a Thursday (exact week in the month will be announced). October 1, 2001 -- The Family Tree and Fear of the Dark can both be ordered now! I'm just putting the finishing touches on the latter. Today brought about another successful piece of publicity - another News 12 Westchester interview. It featured a clip from The Family Tree. For More Information Contact:
