May 30, 2003 -- It seems like everyone is
busy working on projects these days! Keep an eye out for Nikos the
Impaler featuring Sal Sirchia (The Tenement and Sins of the Father).
Sal is in the first half of the movie and has one of the best scenes in the
entire movie! Kirk Larsen (Fear of the Dark) has been showing up in
TV spots and most recently in print ads that appear in Better Homes and
Gardens. John Sudol (The Tenement) is in a play on June
20th and 21st in Brooklyn. Visit
www.heightsplayers.org for information. Also, Sandy Pasquale (Sins of the Father) has a play
coming out. Be sure to check it out. Here are the details.

May 12, 2003 -- Check out the new
Rellik Gallery. It's
chock full of wicked pictures. You can now pre-order the limited edition
Rellik mask as well. I
would like to announce that thanks to the good people at
B-independent.com
we now have a forum on their site. I have also been posting on the
Fangoria.com
bulletin board. You can show your support for Light & Dark by leaving us
some positive feedback in both places. Of course you can always leave your
comments on our Discussion Board
here as well or email
them to me for me to post. Thanks again. Keep checking back because
there's plenty more to come!
May 8, 2003 -- Chiller was a blast this
year. It looks like things are looking up for Light & Dark. On
Friday I was interviewed by VH1 for a "where are they now" special about
horror movie stars which will air sometime in June. They asked me about my
inspirations as a filmmaker along with who my favorites were and who I thought
got the there start out in show biz doing horror flicks. I plugged the
cast of Phantasm as it is truly one of my all time favorites. Angus
Scrimm (Phantasm's Tall Man) was kind enough to lend his voice for a little "easter
egg" which will appear in The Tenement. Being a big horror fan
myself, it's always great to hear from our own growing fan base. I had a
teenager come up to me and buy the movie explaining that he was happy that he
was finally old enough to buy it and that for him "the staple of the Chiller
convention is walking by the Light & Dark table every year and watching the
mouse smashing scene from Fear of the Dark. Now I can watch it over
and over again."
On Saturday, We
sent Joe Lauria (the Black Rose Killer) and
Mike
Valenzano (Oscar Valentine) out to stir up some publicity. Mike
suddenly found himself in front of a camera doing standup comedy in character as
Oscar Valentine. The people of Jokevision, a new 24 hour joke
channel launching this summer, took him so seriously that they seemed a little
startled when he told them it was all an act. Gene Mazza blew a gasket
when his idol Kane Hodder (Jason from Friday the 13th) took pictures with him
holding up the Rellik mask (The Tenement) and his own handmade Jason hockey
mask.
Some of the best
news arrived on Sunday. Bill Diamond of Diamond Studios (Dark Crystal,
Fraggle Rock, Little Shop of Horror's Audrey II) applauded us for our work on
Fear of the Dark. He has invited us to a gallery exhibition that he
will be holding the second weekend of October at his studio. We will
display props from our movies. Details on this will be announced at a
future date.
Finally, Al Vermette of
Blood Moon
Rising magazine made us an offer we couldn't refuse. On October 4,
2003, The Tenement will premiere in Boonton, New Jersey at the Daress Theater
as part of their Blood Fest.
The event will take place from 5 to 12 PM and will feature other movies as well.
Cinema Sky will show their
"Creepy Tales".
Lake Films
"Mind's Eye" series will be shown, one of which (Baby Doll) stars Fear of the
Dark's Rosemary Gore. My movie will probably show last because ...
we are also having a simultaneous premiere at the Putnam County Film & Video
Festival held at the Taconic Outdoor Education Center in Putnam
County, New York. My good friend Maryann Arrien, the director of the
festival, will be on hand to introduce the movie. Showtime schedules for
both events will be posted on the Light & Dark site once finalized. The
great thing about the Boonton premiere is that we will have many of the cast
members there to do a Q&A. And, the good folks at Blood Moon Rising
want to really make it a memorable and special event for us. The
Tenement will premiere "William Castle" style which means there will be
plenty of chills and shocks for the audience throughout the movie!
So stay tuned for upcoming info and plenty of pictures from Chiller as well as
more movie stills. Thanks again for all your support. It looks like
this year will go out with a bang and pave the way for Sins of the
Father.
