What's going on in the Light & Dark universe

March 21, 2002 -- It always sucks when you get your heart so set on something and it doesn't happen.  Well, this seems to be the case with one of the locations I wanted to use.  But it seems that it might be for the best.  A few changes in cast have occurred as well- nothing too radical.  The makeup test pictures are now in The Tenement Anatomy of Horror 2 section.  Brian Spears does amazing work.  Speaking of excellent - Gene Mazza's Rellik mask blew me away.  It is really creepy.  Check it out in The Tenement Photo Gallery section.  I am happy to announce that Rachel Figliuzzi has joined the cast.  She will be playing Ethan's sister, Elizabeth.  I thought that Joe Lauria's head was going to explode when he put on the Black Rose Killer costume for the first time.  He immediately fell into the part and was swinging an axe and doing the "killer walk" right away.  It will be exciting to see his interpretation of the role.  Finally, the Chiller Theatre convention is only a month away.  Mark it on your calendar.  That will be your first chance to meet some of the new stars from the movies and to see some of the props from the movie up close and personal.

March 14, 2002 -- Alex Kaspar (Valley View Management Corp.) has been gracious enough to reopen historic Cimarron Ranch (in Putnam Valley) to the community.  The ranch, once frequented by celebrities such as John Wayne, makes an amazing movie location.  Alex hopes to revitalize what was once one of the areas major hot spots.  He is also extending an invitation to anyone who would like to pursue equestrian events and to environmentalists.  Currently he is offering fertilizer as well.  For more information please you can call the ranch at (845) 528-2701.  Check out a few pictures on the Photo Gallery section of The Tenement.  Finally, the next group meeting will be held again at the VFW Hall on April 11.  We hope to see you there!

March 4, 2002 -- It seems like things have been in a complete whirlwind lately.  Due to the property becoming unavailable in the not to distant future, I have been forced to shoot the "Taxi Driver Story" from The Tenement at the end of March.  Combine that with the lack of snow for another pivotal scene and my head is going to bust.  There is just not enough hours in the day.  I have to rush to get the writing done in order to meet my deadlines.  Ed and Danielle have been really supportive.  And Maryann Arrien is a God send.  She has been a gaffer for over twenty years and will bring her much needed expertise to a few key sequences.  Be sure to check out the Photo Gallery for The Tenement.  There is some really amazing stuff.  We feature the "Anatomy of Horror 2" wherein Mike Gingold, managing editor of Fangoria magazine, undergoes a face casting process.  More behind the scenes stuff  will be coming your way including a QuickTime video of said process.  We also still need to cast more actors and actresses.  If you feel the acting urge, get in touch with me as soon as possible.  Be sure to check out the G & S Effects Co. catalog.  It's a scream.  And, keep checking back because things are just starting to heat up!
