June 14, 2005 -- No Trespassing 2: No Exit went over
really well. The only disappointing thing was that the print was too
dark and hard to see in many places. The projector was not super
bright to begin with but it's really my fault for not having more thoroughly
tested it. I could have screened it at a friend's house but I waited
too close to the deadline. Adam Barnick's movie Mainstream
(which will be on the next Fangoria Blood Drive DVD) was a really
good powerful statement about how programmed we are as a society. And,
I have to admit that Vin Morrone's Beaster was quite funny as much as
I wanted to hate it after what he said on WBAI. The Q&A was cut
for time but we did pose for a photo op at the end. All in all, it was
a fun evening despite learning that I am being laid off from my day job come
August 31st. Oh well, that will give me more time to work on Sins
of the Father. And, if anyone needs a director, writer, etc., I'm
for hire.
June 12, 2005 -- Check out the
trailer for
SVI Bell's new movie She-Demons of the Black Sun starring Isabelle Stephen (Sins
of the Father). It also features Suzi Leigh (The Tenement)
and Kerri Taylor (Fairview Falls). Looks like a bloody good
time!
June 7, 2005 -- The WBAI radio show was a lot of fun to do
tonight. I was on with filmmakers Adam Barnick and Vin Moron... oops
Morrone. Vin, whose short movie Beaster was shot on film,
made a comment that film is for serious artists and professionals and that
video is for jerks - a comment that I have a strong suspicion was directed
at me. My reply was that it doesn't matter what the medium is, it's
all about how you tell the story and doing it in the best possible way you
can. Hopefully his short lives up to his boast. I'm certainly
going to stick around to check it out. Last I checked, I was
distributed nationally and internationally. Not bad for a jerk.
Later on I was asked what my inspirations were for my horror stories.
I replied that I draw from real life events and that perhaps in my next
movie I'll have a character call a video director a jerk only to be gutted
and beheaded. In other news, my latest
Fangoria.com review
is online. This time I take a look at Lloyd's Kaufman's Make Your
Own Damn Movie! DVD box set while injecting a few personal anecdotes.
Check it out and speaking of festivals, we are still accepting entries for
the 5th Annual Putnam County International Film & Video Festival.

for more info. Award winning jerk signing out.
June 4, 2005 -- Congratulations to Kerri Taylor! She's in
this month's Steppin' Out magazine again. And, if you haven't
read about it already on
Fangoria.com then I'll announce it
here. No Trespassing 2: No Exit
will be showing at the Pioneer Theater on June 13th. A few filmmakers,
myself included, will be on the Niteshift on WBAI 99.5 FM this
Monday night, June 6th, at midnight to talk about the upcoming One Dark
and Stormy Night film festival. I think they'll bring us on at
around 12:30 AM. The press release is below. Also, be sure to
check out other upcoming Light & Dark events.

MAINSTREAM: It might be now or it could be 10 minutes into the

society where people live on societal autopilot and let their creative
drives and independence get sucked away to become part of the machine. At
that's just the beginning.
Director: Adam Barnick
Biography: Adam toiled during his school years in various production
tasks while producing advertising and special effects for La Commedia Del
