What happened in the Light & Dark universe

December 31, 2001 -- Pick up the new issue of Fangoria Magazine which goes on sale January 15, 2002.  It features the disembowelment scene in the "Video Chopping List."  May everyone have a happy and healthy New Year!

December 23, 2001 -- Seasons greetings everyone! Our last meeting of the Mid-Hudson Film and Artists Group was a lot of fun and a great success as was the meet that I attended for the Westchester Film Group. For those of you who attended our casting session and auditioned, please note that we will not begin call backs until January. For those who just observed, please realize that we will be going back to basics at our next meeting and we will continue to cover a wide variety of subjects in the future.
Our next meeting will take place on January 10, 2002. It will be from 8 to 10 PM at the VFW Hall (contributions are welcome) in Putnam Valley, NY.  Just click on the NY Film Groups tab for directions.
The meeting will begin with a meet and greet as we go around the table and each person introduces themselves and talks a little bit about what it is that they do.  From that point on it's anything goes until the second hour.
We will finish the meeting in the second hour with some improvisational acting. The sessions will be taped with the intention of airing them on the local public access station.
Next year in an attempt to avoid any confusion, Light & Dark Productions will be hosting the MidHudsonFilm.com web site. Future emails after the New Year will most likely be from MidHudsonFilm@aol.com instead of LghtandDrk@aol.com. You will still be able to link to my site from it and vice versa.  LightandDark.net will focus on film not only in my own productions but beyond the scope of the Mid-Hudson Film and Artist group.  MidHudsonFilm.com will be solely for Dutchess and Putnam Counties.
Finally, Mary Crescenzo has approached me about a workshop which helps an actor prepare for an audition and to help weed out the "scam artists." If you are interested please call or email me. Classes must consist of at least 12 people and cost \$100.00 for the course.
Thanks again for your support. From Maryann Arrien and myself, may you all have a wonderful holiday and a happy and safe New Year!

December 16, 2001 -- This past Thursday was pretty successful.  We had a few new members attend the Mid-Hudson Film and Artist Group.  Twenty three people showed up for the casting call.  It's nice to see that there are so many talented people in the neighborhood.  A few of them sent shivers up my spine with their character renditions from The Tenement.  Though we are still casting, we will begin call backs for some roles in January.  It's crunch time for me now.  I have to get the Fear of the Dark DVD bonus material ready by Monday in order to have it ready for the Fangoria Weekend of Horrors in January.  I hope to see everyone there.  Until then, have a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year!!
